This indicator tracks the volume and frequency of trades occurring within dark pools, which are private financial exchanges where large transactions are executed without public exposure until after the trades are completed. High dark pool activity can indicate significant institutional interest and market movements, as large trades are often placed by institutional investors looking to minimize the impact on public markets.
